Ripplet Privacy Policy
How the Ripplet messaging app collects, uses, and protects your information.
Effective date: July 9, 2026
Summary: Ripplet collects only what a chat app needs — your account, your messages, and basic app analytics. No ads, no trackers, no data sales, and you can permanently delete your account in the app at any time.
1. Introduction
Ripplet is a messaging application built and operated by Koolbase Inc. (“Koolbase”, “we”, “us”) as the official sample application of the Koolbase platform. This policy describes what Ripplet collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the Ripplet app specifically; the Koolbase developer platform is covered by our platform Privacy Policy.
2. What We Collect
Account information
Your email address and a password (stored as a salted hash — we never see or store your plaintext password), plus the display name, username, and optional profile photo you choose during setup.
Content you create
Messages you send, photos you attach, and emoji reactions are stored so they can be delivered to and displayed for the people you chat with.
Reports and blocks
If you report or block another user, we store that record (who reported or blocked whom, the reason you selected, and when) to operate our moderation process.
Technical and usage data
Basic app analytics (such as app opens and feature usage) tied to a per-device identifier, and the technical metadata needed to run the service (session tokens, app version for compatibility and update checks).
3. What We Do NOT Collect
Ripplet does not collect your contacts, location, advertising identifiers, or browsing history. Ripplet contains no advertising and no third-party ad or tracking SDKs.
We do not sell your data. Period.
4. Where Your Data Lives
All data is stored on Koolbase infrastructure: our servers and Cloudflare R2 object storage with CDN delivery for images. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS), and passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
5. How Your Data Is Used
Solely to operate Ripplet: delivering your messages in real time, displaying profiles, enforcing blocks, reviewing reports, keeping you signed in, and improving the app. Because Ripplet is the reference application for the Koolbase platform, aggregate, non-identifying usage information (for example, total message counts) may inform platform development.
6. Message Visibility
Messages are visible to you and the person you sent them to. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted in this version; they are protected by access rules enforced by our servers.
7. Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account inside the app. Deletion removes your authentication record and all sessions immediately, deletes your profile and profile photo, removes your conversations from your account, and clears the content of messages you sent — conversation partners see “Deleted user” in place of your identity. This action cannot be undone.
8. Data Retention
Active account data is retained while your account exists. Reports may be retained after the reported content or accounts are deleted, for safety and abuse-prevention purposes.
9. Children
Ripplet is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
